Maoran Sun is an urban researcher and data scientist, currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Cambridge. His research examines how the built environment and social inequalities shape people’s thermal comfort, access to environmental equity, and resilience to climate change.
Specializing in building energy, environmental justice, and urban studies, Maoran integrates geospatial data science with deep learning to uncover patterns and inform sustainable urban design.
Before joining Cambridge, he was a research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds a Master’s in Design Studies and Urban Design from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Urban Planning from Southeast University.
